Jon Scully, Trumpet and George MacDonald, Piano

Jon Scully has been a professional musician for the past 16 years. After graduating from Leeds University with a BSc in Biology, he felt like he had sufficient work to move into music full-time. He was already paying his way with private brass tuition and gigs.

He started working for a number of schools throughout West and South Yorkshire, as well as playing with a number of professional ensembles. By 2015, Jon had decided to specialise in jazz performance, spending less time teaching and focussing more on developing his craft.

Now Jon is a well known figure on the Leeds Jazz scene, guesting at gigs throughout the area. He runs the busy swing band, The Big Easy and has appeared at many of the UK's best jazz venues, including the world famous Ronnie Scott's.

Since graduating, George has established himself as an integral part of the Leeds Jazz scene, performing regularly around the city. His ensembles have toured extensively around the UK and have gained recognition from Jazz critics. Described as “one of the most exciting young talents”, George brings an energy to performances that is not to be missed.
