EMMA JAMES ENTERTAINS
Born in Blackpool into a theatrical family her first season was on the South Pier singing and dancing in the Frank Carson Laughter Show. Summer season’s followed alongside top artists including Ken Dodd, Jim Davidson and the Grumbleweeds. As a pantomime principle she has appeared in a variety of roles and worked for 5 years as the singer in the Big Top Show at Chessington World of Adventures. Christmas contracts followed with Chipperfields Circus at the Point in Dublin, Gerry Cottle’s Circus at Wembley , the Roundhouse Theatre Camden, and Emma toured for 6 years in the Cottle and Austen Electric Circus as Singer Presenter.
Emma particularly enjoys Cabaret, appearing in venues all over the UK including Grosvenor House Hotel, Lanham Hilton and the Belfry. For two years she was resident cabaret artist with Page and Moy cruises on the Ocean Majesty and Bolero cruise ship and went on to headline her own show for P&O Cruises on the Oceana and Artemis cruise ships. From American audiences Emma received wide acclaim for her performances.
Emma is always in demand on the Hotel and Holiday circuit, working extensively for Shearings and Britannia hotels. She is also a favourite entertainer at all major civic events in Leeds and regularly sings with the Royal Corps of Signals Band at the Liverpool Anglian Cathedral performing in cabaret for Regimental functions across the UK. Emma loves living in her adopted home town of Leeds regularly entertaining at many local venues, and in her spare time enjoys walking in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
During the pandemic, Emma performed her show ‘al fresco’ at many care homes and other venues, weather permitting!! Also Zoom concerts but is now delighted to be back in person, doing what she loves, singing and entertaining people.
