KEN STAMP BIOGRAPHY
Ken Stamp was born in York in 1948 and started playing the cornet at 9yrs old,
moving on to the tenor horn, before teaching himself to play the trombone in
1972.
He has played trombone in a military band, dance band, ‘oompa’ band and pit
orchestras. In 2002 he formed his own brass quintet called ‘Fanfare’, which
played successfully for 18 years.
Ken is now a member of the ‘Shepherds’ concert band and the current solo
champion.
Since 2008 Ken has raised over £30,000 for St.Leonard’s Hospice, undertaking
around 20 fund raising events every year including Martin House and other
charities.
