YORKSHIRE EVENING POST BRASS QUINTET.
In September 2002 a group of eleven musicians formed Yorkshire Evening Post Brass following an offer of sponsorship by Yorkshire Post Newspapers. The group is no longer sponsored but retains the rights to use the name, and the Quintet are all performers within the group,
Repertoire of the group ranges form jazz, swing, pop and rock right through to chamber music, classics and opera and the group try to emulate and advance the pioneering work of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble whilst adding their own unique style and flavour to their engagements.
The current line-up of instrumentalists comprises amateur musicians from all over Yorkshire, most of whom also play with orchestras, brass bands, military bands and big bands.
