Beryl Pankhurst

David Owen- Lewis grew up in the Swansea Valley and started a life long love affair with music and singing at a very young age.He feels that he has been very fortunate that he has been able to pursue a career as a singer for 40 years.Thirty years of this time was spent as a chorister with OPERA NORTH.There he was given many opportunities to perform many small character roles, usually of a comic nature,as well as being a chorister.David retired from OPERA NORTH in 2010 but is still very active as a singer.

Since retirement he has concentrated on using music and singing in particular in trying to make  people feel better. He has worked with MIND in Bradford,MOODSWINGS in Manchester and AGE CONCERN in Denholm. His principal work is now with STREETWISE OPERA in Manchester. It is a wonderful organization formed to encourage the growing number of  homeless people in Manchester to come in from the streets and get involved in singing and performing as a group.David feels that this is the most exciting part of his singing  David looks forward to sharing the joys of Christmas with the good people of Boston Spa.
