Rachel van Heel (soprano)

Rachel was born and educated in Yorkshire. She studied singing with Barbara Siddeley, an internationally recognised singer and teacher, with whom she gained the LRAM Performers’ Diploma.

Rachel has sung extensively in oratorio, recitals and at weddings. With West Riding Opera and Yorkshire Dales Opera her roles have included Siebel (Faust), Frasquita (Carmen), Musetta (La Bohème), Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro) and First Lady (The Magic Flute). As a member of Manchester City Opera she has been a soloist in numerous operas and concerts, many of which were staged at the Royal Northern College of Music and at the Buxton Festival.


Dawn Lloyd (mezzo-soprano)

For many years, Dawn sang with the City of Leeds College of Music Opera Group, taking roles such as Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro), Popova  (The Bear) and Mistress Quickly (Falstaff) as well as being a regular soloist in oratorio. More recently

she has specialised in Art Song of all kinds, where her degree in Modern Languages has been of particular value. She has taken part in master classes with April Cantelo, Patricia MacMahon and Joan Rodgers and continues to study with Hilary Thomas

Howard Clinkard

Originally from Grays, Essex, Howard has lived in Leeds for many years and is now retired from a career in education.  He studied singing in Leeds with Fred Westcott and Gerald Wragg at the Leeds College of Music and later with Sybil Chambers and Jean Alister.  

More recently he has attended solo singing courses and received tuition from April Cantelo, Patricia McMahon, Rosemary Walton and David Jones to develop his Lieder, Melodie and Song repertoire.  He has sung for numerous local church choirs and choral societies including Baildon, Ilkley, Otley, Knaresborough, Holmfirth, Grassington, Wetherby, the Bradford Chorale and the Leeds Methodist Choir.  His more recent engagements have included Handel’s The Messiah, Haydn’s Harmonie Messe, Mozart’s Requiem, Haydn’s Creation, Stainer’s Crucifixion and Maunder’s Olivet to Calvary.

Howard is currently a member of ‘Aires & Gracenotes’, a trio of singers and a pianist who give concerts in a wide variety of settings across Yorkshire.

He is a regular member and soloist of the Leeds Methodist District Chamber choir The Wesley Singers and the Pontefract based choir The Epiphany Singers. He has been a performing member of the Leeds Music Club for many years where he also sings in a male voice quartet known as ‘The Fourtunes’.

Peter Reasbeck studied piano with Elsie Werren in Doncaster and music at Doncaster Grammar School,  before reading classics at Durham and theology at Cambridge. As a Methodist minister for over 40 years, he continued to develop his musical abilities and has specialised in accompaniment for lieder & in playing the organ for church services. In retirement he is active as an accompanist for vocal & instrumental soloists & choirs. He has many interests including gardening, bee-keeping and Leeds Rhinos.
