Busy Bees

Welcome to Busy Bees

We meet every week during term times on Wednesday morning from 9.30 to 11am. Whether you are a regular visitor or joining us for the first time, we are always pleased to welcome you and hope that you have a pleasant morning with us.   Busy Bees is run by a number of volunteers who are members of Boston Spa Methodist Church. We are open to all pre-school children and their carer’s. The charge is £2.00 per week if you bring one child plus 50p for each additional child, which includes drinks and biscuits.

What do we do?

At Busy Bees we aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere with lots of toys & equipment to play with and an activity table for art and crafts, in a safe and comfortable environment. It is an excellent opportunity to make new and long-lasting friendships for you and your babies and toddlers.

Towards the end of the morning the children and adults are invited by the ringing of the bell to join in the singing with instruments session. This takes place separately to avoid distractions as much as possible and there is no obligation to take part, however this is an attractive and very popular addition to the morning for the children and the adults!

Why do we do it?

As a Church we find Jesus to be our best friend in all life’s ups and downs. It is natural that we should want to share God’s gifts with our children and knowing Jesus is the best gift of all!   Jesus said           ‘I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kngdom of God like a little child will never enter it’.  And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them.  Mark 10 v 15-16.

Children and Church

The Methodist Church prioritises work with children because:

  • Jesus models this behaviour
  • God speaks and acts through children
  • Our society is healthier if children are nurtured and listened to.

Families with children who are part of our larger Church Family are always welcome to attend our ‘Messy Church’ on the last Wednesday of the month, and Sunday Worship at 10.30am.  We are all together for the first part of the service, but then usually the children leave for their own activities.
