Malcolm Galloway has been a church organist for the past fifty seven years and was  organist and choirmaster at Tadcaster Parish Church, a position he held for more than twenty years. Other appointments have included Pocklington Parish Church, St John’s Roundhay and Headingley Methodist Church.
Malcolm was born and educated in Leeds and is a graduate of Leeds University. At the age of seventeen he was one of the youngest organists to be awarded the ARCM and in 1962 he won an organ scholarship to study with the late Dr Herbert Sumsion at Gloucester Cathedral.
Malcolm was for eight years principal teacher at the Leeds Yamaha Music School and also introduced the teaching of electronic organs and keyboards at two Leeds music centres, Horsforth and West Leeds.
After forty years as a school music teacher, Malcolm retired ten years ago as director of music at Roundhay School and now continues to enjoy teaching music privately. He is an arts critic for Ackrill Media and regularly reviews plays and concerts, including concerts at the Aldborough, Harrogate and Wetherby festivals.
